Busy Mamas Colossians 3 Bible Study Book Review

Welcome to my first book review!  I have always had a passion for reading books and have always loved to do bible studies.  I have been actively involved in group bible studies for about 10 years now, and have even had the opportunity to teach a few.  I have, however, had some challenges in this lately, specifically after my 4th child was born about 2 years ago.  I began struggling on so many levels that I often felt amazed that I was even functioning most days.  I had a deep desire to get back into the Word of God; not to be a part of a bible group, but to feed the hunger that my soul was feeling.  I knew deep down that it was God’s strength that was going to get me through my difficult days.  During this time I stumbled across a study through Doorpost Ministries entitled “Thirty Days of Bible Study for Busy Mamas.”

I was instantly drawn to this study.  The author, Pam Forester, gently leads you through each day with reassurance and true joy.  She encourages busy moms through manageable 5-minute studies that can be taken at any part of the day.  Pam Forester uses chapter 3 of Colossians to help invigorate and inspire a busy mom through God’s word.  This is also a wonderful way to lead into precept study because she challenges you to think about each word you are reading by marking them and studying them in their context.  In just 5 minutes a day, you can start to feel God’s word awaken your soul and you will start yearning for more!

What really spoke to me about this bible study is the way it not only leads you through God’s word, but allows you to include your children as well.  I am always looking for ways to include my children in what I am learning from God and this study was perfect for that.

This study also does a great job in giving you the freedom to dig a little deeper into God’s Word.  There are many opportunities and optional assignments, should you find you have some more time or feel really drawn towards the Word, to explore and continue learning.  This makes this bible study really fulfilling because it can adapt to you, and it also allows you to do it more than once without being repetitive.

This is a beautiful book and study.  I would recommend this to all moms whether you are busy or not!

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher for my honest review.

  1. I'd love the opportunity to win this. For the first time, I am in a season where PWOC is not where I am being called to(praying it's just this short transition time). I would love a bible study I can do with my children, yet truly speaks to my momma heart.

  2. Thanks for this review. I'm in a place where I am constantly overwhelmed, and though I am fortunate to have developed years ago a habit of prayer throughout the day, time in the Bible just doesn't happen. Maybe this is just what I need!
