In the summer of 2007 my Grandma taught me how to sew. We had just moved back to the states after living in Germany for 4 years. My husband went straight to military training for 5 months and I, with our 2 little ones, lived with my parents. Every day during nap time I would walk down the street to my Grandma's house and she would teach me how to quilt. I would spend hours there and often my mom would have to call and tell me that it was time for dinner and the kids were awake. It was a great bonding time with my Grandma and time for me away from my little ones. I have been hooked ever since. Here are some of my quilts I have made.

This is the first quilt I ever made. |
This is the second quilt. I made this one for my son Brian who was 3 at the time. |
This one I made for my baby girl who was almost 1. |
My first queen quilt. I made this one for our bed. It was so much fun to make. I love scrappy quilts. |
I love to make baby quilts. I love the bright colors and the size! |
This is made from a scrap bag of fabric my Grandma gave me. It is fabric from the 1920s. We like to have picnics on this one. |
A baby gift for a friend. |
Having fun with the color purple! |
My Grandma taught me not to waste fabric. So all 2 inch scraps. This size is perfect for the pack in play. It is the exact size to just lay in there. I love it! |
Another gift! |
For a friend who loves turtles. Those are turtles in the squares. |
For a friend who was having her first baby. |
I started making this one because I had nothing else to do. It grew into this quilt and then I found out we were pregnant with another girl! So I put a border of hearts around it. It actually took me 9 months to make so it was done just in time for her. |
A new quilt for my son. He needed a big boy quilt! |
We all fight over lap quilts on the couch so I made this one for my son, Brian. So now each one of us has our own lap quilt to snuggle in and watch tv. |
I made this one for a friend who was going to get her little boy they adopted from Vietnam. |
A Christmas quilt...still is not finished! :} |
I made another one of these quilts for a friend. |
I made a quilt out of my husband's boxers. He would not throw them away so I took care of them! :) He loves His PERSONAL lap quilt. |
The boxer quilt finished! |
Another quilt for a friend. |
A quilt for a friend's second baby. |
I made this quilt for fun and started my Etsy store at this time. |
Another quilt I made for my Etsy store. |

I made this quilt, queen size, for our bed. I love it! I had it professionally quilted too. |

I made this for our 4th baby, Jacob. He is our little monkey. I did the applique by hand for him. He is that special! I do not enjoy appliqueing! |
I also made Jacob this peek a boo quilt to play with on the floor. It has 4 crinkle flaps and 4 pockets. He enjoyed it until he started crawling! He started to crawl at 6 1/2 months so it didn't last as long as I would have liked! |
Each one of my quilts I make is so personal to me. I think it is because I spend a lot of time with the fabric while making them. When I am making them for myself, friend, or family I try to pray continually for that person it is going to. There is something so comforting about home made quilts!
